The old Takhini Hot Pools reopened in 2022 as Eclipse Nordic Hot Springs, and it's now the best spa experience in the territory. Day passes $50, with hot pools, cold plunges, cedar sauna, and steam room. It's 30 km north of Whitehorse, so most people stay in town and drive. The on-site glamping tents ($280) are the only overnight option and worth it for the pre-opening and evening slots when day-trippers are gone.

Muktuk Adventures is 10 minutes from Eclipse ($170), so is Sundog Retreat ($195). Both give you a rural feel while keeping the hot pools close. Downtown Whitehorse hotels are 25 minutes but let you combine restaurants and aurora tours. Skip Liard Hot Springs across the BC border unless you’re driving the Alaska Highway anyway — it's 5 hours from Whitehorse. Book Eclipse evening sessions in advance; they cap capacity and sell out on aurora nights.
