Overrated
The Sourtoe Cocktail — a $8 gimmick, done in 30 seconds, feels tourist-manufactured. The SS Klondike sternwheeler — one hour, mildly interesting, but the entrance fee ($8) buys you a museum you’ll forget by tomorrow. Signpost Forest in Watson Lake — genuinely just a car park with signs; drive past unless you’re already stopping for fuel. Whitehorse fish ladder — closed most of the year, small even in season. Any 'chuckwagon dinner' show — cornball and overpriced ($75+).
Underrated
Kluane's flightseeing over the icefields — expensive at $400 but you’ll see mountains no road accesses; better memory than any hotel splurge. The MacBride Museum in Whitehorse — smaller than the Dawson museum but better curated. The Dempster Highway even just for the first 100 km — dramatic scenery on gravel, and few tourists make it past Tombstone Territorial Park. Yukon's cross-country ski trails at Mt Mac — 85 km of groomed track for $15 a day. And Marsh Lake bird sanctuary in April.
