Getting there

Drive north on the Alaska Highway to km 198, then turn left onto Takhini Hot Springs Road for 10 km on paved road. If you do not have a car, book the Yukon Alpine Adventures shuttle from downtown hotels — $30 return, morning and afternoon pickups. Whitehorse Transit does not go there. The lot is free and rarely full on weekdays; weekend evenings between 4pm and 8pm can back up 20 minutes, book a time slot online.

What is on site

Eclipse Nordic Hot Springs replaced the old Takhini pool in 2022 and now offers 3 mineral pools (39°C, 38°C, and 20°C cold plunge), a Finnish sauna, steam room, and 5 quiet zones. 90-minute session $22 weekday, $27 weekend. Adjacent Yukon Wildlife Preserve is a natural pairing — $20 self-drive on 5 km of gravel road past muskox, lynx, moose, and wood bison enclosures. Combo tickets save $6. Bring your own towel or rent one for $6.

Combine it with lunch

The on-site Bathhouse Bistro does soups ($12), open-faced sandwiches ($16), and Yukon Brewing on tap ($9). Nothing else nearby, so eat here or bring a picnic. On the drive back, stop at Miles Canyon (add 20 minutes) for a walk to shake off the pool sleepiness. Winter tip: the springs stay open year-round and are magical at minus 20°C with steam and stars — book the 8pm to 10pm slot for the darkest sky.
